Driving Instructor Requirements:
- You need to be 21 years old or over
- Have held a full UK driving licence for at least three and a half years
- Have less than 6 points on your licence or the DSA may reject your application
The Driving Instructor Training
Becoming a qualified driving instructor is made up of 3 simple parts and usually takes between 6 months to a year depending on the trainee, their personal timetable and approach...:
Part 1: Is a study course structured around you. It can mostly be completed in your spare time with LDA's guidance and support to help pass the test exams. This comprises a touch-screen computer based theory test of 100 multiple-choice questions.
Part 2: Is a practical driving course to develop your own driving to the professional level required for the Advanced DSA Instructor Driving test. Once passed you'll recieve your "Trainee Instructor Licence" which entitles you to start teaching through us!
Part 3: A comprehensive classroom, study and practical course to train you in the art of teaching others to drive, developing skills to be able to identify, analyse and correct faults in a pupil’s driving whilst preparing you for your advanced teaching tests.
